We provided the full M&E building services design for the Costello Community Facility, delivering an energy-efficient and future-ready solution. The design included electric heating, VRF air conditioning, heat recovery ventilation, domestic water services, drainage, LED lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, emergency lighting, CCTV, access control and data infrastructure, creating a safe, comfortable and sustainable facility for occupants.

We provided detailed M&E design to convert a shell & core unit into a vibrant on-campus pizzeria. Working with PSV Design, the fit-out included commercial kitchen facilities, servery, hot drinks station, and social seating areas. We also reviewed O&M documentation and completed handover snagging to meet University standards.

We delivered RIBA Stage 4 M&E design for one of the UK’s largest Air Source Heat Pump installations, replacing gas-fired boilers across three council buildings. Funded by a £13.75m Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme grant, the project includes a 3MW system at Hillingdon Civic Centre. The systems use non-toxic refrigerants with zero ozone depletion and low global warming potential, supporting Hillingdon’s carbon reduction goals.

The University have replaced the solid ceiling within the Asylum night club venue space to freshen up the area ready for the new term. As part of the scope SCE were appointed to undertake modification works to the M&E services within the ceiling void to improve the overall performance and usability of the space throughout the academic year. New local cooling plant was also provided above the dance floor area as part of the project.

The mechanical works comprise the installation of new ducted fan coil units, DX cooling coils, condensers, refrigerant pipework, condensate drainage and associated controls to improve the heating, cooling and ventilation performance of the Asylum venue space. The works also include modifications to the existing ventilation system, ductwork alterations, new fire dampers, grilles and diffusers, together with BMS integration

The electrical works comprise the provision of power supplies, containment, isolators and distribution equipment for the new mechanical installations, together with the relocation, adaptation and reconnection of existing electrical, fire alarm, data and associated ceiling-mounted services affected by the works.
